A Touching Homage to America's Last Known Living 9/11 Search and Rescue Dog (Prepare to Weep)

September 11, 2001 is a day that still remains fresh in the minds of almost all Americans who were old enough to witness and understand the tragedy that was unfolding right in front of them. For years we have remembered and memorialized the victims who parished on that day and the men and women who tirelessly worked to help during and after the attacks. But humans weren't the only heros on 9/11 and the days that followed.

Bretagne is a search and rescue dog who was present and working to locate and recover victims of the 9/11 attacks, and to our knowledge is the last living working dog to work the attacks.

As a way to pay homage to her and her handler, the people of New York decided to throw a party for her 16th birthday and give the proud puppy the day of her life.

Brace yourself, you're probably going to need some tissues for this one.
