Americans Believe Real Estate is Best Place to Invest Long Term

While the 2008 housing bubble collapse still sits in the back of the heads of many Americans, many still believe that real estate is the best place to invest money in the long run.

On Wednesday, Bankrate.com published their “Financial Security Index Survey,” and the results showed that Americans believe real estate (27 percent) is the best way to invest money that isn’t needed for 10 years.

Other primary avenues of investment included cash investments (23 percent), the stock market (17 percent), and gold/precious metals (14 percent).

The survey was conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates International and polled 1,000 adult volunteers in the United States.
